Genre: Single-player FPS Survival
Platform: Windows

Engine: Unreal Engine 5.3
Source Control: Git Hub

Description:
Based in a Metropolitan area that was hit by chemical bombings turning the city into a wasteland. This Chemical Weapon turned people into parasitic creatures. The survivors are scattered across the area, the majority residing within the metro system and pedways connecting the city underground. While the local government is trying to rehabilitate; others find the perfect time to take the lead.

I learned a lot from working on this project, from implementation to iterations from testing. This project is a single-player experience built from the designs I have made in the past to improve upon.

Here is a List of Key Features:

  • FPS Character with Basic Movement States

  • Survival System (Health, Stamina, Hunger, Thirst)

  • Saving/Loading (RE: 4 Inspired Save Points)

  • UE5 Level Streaming for level optimization

  • Weapons System

  • Crafting & Inventory System (Inspired from The Last of Us)

  • NPC Dialogue w/ Voicing, Quests, & Event Triggers

  • Level & Trigger Mechanics affecting gameplay pacing

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Every Journey has a beginning, and mine was playing Outlaw on the Atari which kickstarted my passion for gaming. After 2010, I started playing Counter-Strike. I played Semi-Professional and coached teams for both CSGO and Call of Duty. I continued this hobby even further by collecting data from tournaments to compare the teams and maps played. I created levels for the Steam Workshop and joined a playtesting community online. I love focusing on Competitive Design within the Gameplay. Watching strategies unfold and analyzing outcomes has always been a fascination of mine.

Full Sail University

I graduated from Full Sail University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Game Design. During my time as a student, our classes worked with Industry Software (Atlassian, Unreal, Unity, Visual Studios). My experience at Full Sail helped me fine-tune my skills and pursue design as a career. After working on the university projects in a team environment, it allowed me to refocus my passion into the correct pathways and learn from the feedback I received from all my peers.

Project: Redline

For the last project at Full Sail, I joined a team of 6 to make an FPS Platformer. I worked on many different parts of the project including:

  • Player Weapon and Ability System

  • Enemy AI Behaviors

  • Collectibles and a Currency System

  • UI elements featuring the Tutorial Pop-Ups and Weapon Heads-Up-Display

  • 2 Levels, Desert City Ruins and a Sci-Fi abandoned spaceship

As a team, we were using Jira, Confluence, and Perforce for Dev Ops and Unreal Engine 4.27 for the Engine Version.

Experience & Expertise

  • Game Design is my passion and most skillful trait. I primarily focused on this because I love to create a world that expresses a narrative themes and emotions while highlighting the dynamics of gameplay in the project. Even the simplistic tasks can be compelling enough to cry, and that is my goal.

  • I have an innate desire for efficiency, so inheritably I love to break down the complicated structures of systems to see their inner workings. I do this as a hobby, tracking game stats in a database, making an inventory manager for my pantry, and a task manager for daily chores.

About Me

Since I was a child, I’ve always had a keen eye for attention to detail. I love to take apart a system and see how it can be improved upon. I especially do this within my everyday life. With every step I take, I hope to provide the best experience for my partners and create amazing ideas together.
